In May this year, it is planned to launch a call for support for the installation of small, up to 10 kilowatt (kW) solar power plants. Owners of individual houses planning to generate electricity from solar power for their own use will be able to benefit from this support - up to 2022 in total. It is planned to distribute more than 16 mln. of EU support. As stated in the press release on 18 January.

The Ministry of Energy approved a description of the funding conditions of the project “Financing of the installation of electricity from renewable energy sources in households”, which sets out the requirements and criteria for this support. “One of the key priorities of the Ministry of Energy is to create opportunities for the energy consumers to produce their own electricity for their own needs. The goal of a strong increase in the number of such producers is also set in the energy independence strategy. Therefore, we strive to create as simple rules as possible for the largest number of electricity consumers and financially attractive conditions to start producing electricity for themselves ”, says Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas.
