Content
Transmission grid operator LITGRID informed, that during first half of 2017-year wind power stations generated biggest - 53% of electricity, produced in Lithuania. This is more comparing to 49,5% in same period of 2016 year. 500 MW of installed wind power capacity covers only 12% of consumed electricity, because more as 70% of electricity is importing from Russia, Byelorussia, Latvia, Estonia and Sweden. Every year more as 300 million euros go abroad from the State for to pay imported electricity costs. However, State energy authorities don’t shove of initiative to transfer energy development to EU Green growth mode. This is one of reason of stopped progress in Lithuania and large emigration.
