Company profile
The increasing demand for process steam and electricity for production of potato products by Pfanni GmbH & Co. OHG was the reason for the construction of Stavenhagen heat and power station. Since August 2007 up to 130,000 tons of refused derived fuels (RDF) are being yearly used to produce 103,000 tons of process steam for Pfanni. Electricity produced as a by-product of cogeneration supplies power for the entire plant.
The excess electricity is sent to electricity network of a regional energy supplier. The refused derived fuels originate mainly from a mechanical biological waste treatment plant located just twelve kilometres away. Here, wastes collected in the region, are being treated and then supplied to the heat and power station, where they are subject to safe and low-emission utilization.
